Dr. Mugo is the Director of Data and Voice at Twaweza East Africa and the Regional Manager of Uwezo, an initiative that conducts the largest citizen-ed learning assessment in East Africa. He holds a PhD (Special Needs Education) from the University of Hanover, Germany. He is a seasoned researcher, with a credible record of scholarship.
Dr. Mugo has published and written in the areas of quality of education, disability and education, youth and human capital development among other issues. His opinion in Kenya's education continues to influence thinking, especially on the range of contemporary issues, and linking all to the focus on learning outcomes. His latest publication and opinion pieces encompass learning outcomes and education quality, curriculum, equalities in education and global education policy.
